The Canon EOS R50 is a new mirrorless camera that offers a compact and easy-to-use alternative to smartphones for beginners and bloggers. It is the smallest and lightest Canon EOS R system camera, weighing only 370g with a battery and memory card. It comes with a 24.2MP APS-C sensor, a DIGIC X processor, and a Canon RF lens mount that supports both full-frame and crop-sensor lenses.
Its fast and accurate autofocus system can track various subjects, such as people, animals, and vehicles, and can also switch to a vlogging mode that prioritizes close-up objects.
Talking of videography, it can record 4K video up to 30p with no crop and also supports 10-bit HDR video and HEIF images for better dynamic range and color reproduction. The R50 has a 2.36M dot OLED viewfinder and a 1.62M dot fully articulating touchscreen that can rotate for vertical video shooting.
